What is dual enrollment?

Dual enrollment is a term used to describe a high school student who is also enrolled in college courses. Through Amador College Connect, high school students can earn college credits while going to high school; saving time & money on future college courses.

High School Enrollment + College Enrollment = Dual Enrollment

Proven Success

It has been proven that early college exposure increases the likelihood of college completion. Dual enrollment is by far the best way to help high schoolers transition to college by allowing them to earn high school and college credits simultaneously. It also provides equitable access to higher education for both mainstream and underrepresented population as California community colleges offer FREE tuition for all high school students.

By completing required core classes and electives throughout the year, students may be able to graduate from high school earlier in order to jumpstart their career goals. Students can potentially earn an associate degree by the time they graduate from high school!

PLEASE NOTE: One college credit equals 3.33 high school credits!
For example, a 3-credit college course in English will complete 10 high-school English credits!
