Amador College Connect announced its collaboration with Arizona State University Online in November 2017 and a mere four months later Ryan Peters of Jackson is already working on a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology.
After almost ten years working retail and trying to attend college, Ryan was frustrated with his previous experiences here in California. He explains that attending ASU Online is different. “I like online classes because I can do it anytime day or night.”
Ryan reports that “ASU-Online has been a pleasure to work with.” He explains that he has his own academic “coach” and if he has “any questions at all, no matter what they are,” he can contact his coach via email or phone. He also values the 24/7 tutoring service that is available to him as an ASU Online student.
Students who are considering ASU Online should be self-motivated Ryan explains, because “unlike going to class one or two times a week” with online classes “the professor gives a task to do and it is up to each student to get it done.” Ryan’s deep interest in computers and ambition for a career in Information Technology Security provide him with continuous motivation to complete his online degree. In the meantime, he appreciates the flexibility that online classes allow him so he can stay employed full-time while getting his degree.
