Rachelle Saldate celebrates one year with ACCF

Rachelle Saldate, Educational Counselor, celebrates her first year as Coordinator at College Connect

Rachelle Saldate, Center Coordinator for Amador College Connect, is about to celebrate her first anniversary with us! She has overseen a year of real growth for our agency and is looking forward to serving even more students through our collaboration with Arizona State University’s Global Freshman Academy and its Online Bachelor degree programs.

“It has been a very exciting year for me” Rachelle said recently, “as an Educational Counselor I love supporting students in their academic and career aspirations.” Rachelle is currently working on getting her Master of Science in Educational Counseling through National University. Her studies in this specialty have greatly enhanced College Connect’s services this past year. Originally from Galt, Rachelle holds a B.A. degree in Political Science and a minor in Spanish from San Jose’ State University.

Changing career direction through additional studies, as Rachelle has done, is common among College Connect’s clients. Rachelle explains, “I have enjoyed helping adult clients transition from one area of expertise to another, for example, from retail and customer service positions into careers in Human Services, Health, Animal Health, Business and Real Estate careers. It is very gratifying to know I am helping our clients enhance their career prospects and appreciate learning as a life-long pursuit that can improve their quality of life.”

Amador Community College Foundation Board member, Janice Davis, concurs with Rachelle and notes that a significant percentage of College Connect’s clients are adults over the age of 35 who want to embark on a new career. “Rachelle regularly works with adults who are new to college or are re-entry students with the goal of finishing a degree. She helps them refine their interests and goals as well as provides encouragement and assistance every step of the way. She is delighted to see high school students beginning to take advantage of the services offered at Amador College Connect as they begin their college experience taking online classes. Rachelle’s warm and inviting personality helps to give our students motivation to reach their educational goals.”

Rachelle’s office hours are T and TH from 4pm-8pm and W, F and Sat from 9am-1pm. She welcomes visitors during office hours and encourages making an appointment in advance. Call for an appointment at 209-217-8239 or stop by during office hours to meet Rachelle.
