The Clinton Family

A family that learns together stays together. This is certainly true when it comes to the Clinton Family, who all took advantage of the resources available to them at Amador College Connect. Conor Clinton first joined Amador College Connect’s dual enrollment program in 2022, just before his junior year at Amador High School. Since then, he has completed over 10 courses through Coastline Community College, earning over 35 college units. Conor’s dream is to attend UCLA, where he currently is studying and entered as a sophomore, thanks to all his dual enrollment credits! He’s studying electrical engineering, but his all-time favorite class is History of Cinema. “Amador College Connect was a huge factor in my success,” Conor said. “The staff are incredibly helpful and guided me through the application and registration process. Even once I got used to the online system, I kept coming back to ACC for support and updates.” Conor’s academic journey inspired his entire family. Alan Clinton, his father, began his college journey in 2023. With a three-year degree in electronic engineering from Ireland and decades of experience as a general contractor and carpenter, he wanted to be qualified in the U.S. “I was a little apprehensive at first,” Alan said. “But with help from the staff at Amador College Connect, it was a good experience.” Alan and Conor’s college interest rubbed off on Arleen Kingston, Conor’s mom, who enrolled in Sociology 110 in 2023. “Amador College Connect opens up a whole world of possibilities right here in Amador County,” she said. “The staff have been hugely supportive and incredibly knowledgeable in guiding each member of our family through the online college process.” Last but certainly not least is Maeve Clinton, the youngest member of the family who started dual enrollment as a freshman in 2024. “It’s a really cool experience to have my whole family going to college,” Maeve said. “ACC made my goals feel more achievable and gave me access to resources I wouldn’t otherwise have.” “Just do it! Take a class for your requirements or just for fun,” Maeve said. “It opened a passage for me to learn more and grow, both as a student and a person.”
