Amador College Connect, in partnership with the Sierra K16 Collaborative and funded by an $18.2 million grant, has launched two new free career pathway programs—Early Childhood Education (ECE) and Computer Science—to address the lack of accessible higher education and vocational training in rural Amador County. The Computer Science pathway features a five-course network specialist program with virtual instruction and hands-on lab work, culminating in an industry certification after work experience with Volcano Communications Group. Open to recent graduates and adult learners alike, both year-long programs are offered at no cost, and participants who complete all requirements receive a $500 completion award.
